Hi, I’m Lisa!
Hi, I’m Lisa!
I’m a mom, wife, non-profit leader, small business owner, and candidate for Yakima City Council, District 6. I’m running for city council to keep our community safe, improve government service, support economic development, and protect our most vulnerable.
I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail. I would love to talk with you to hear about your priorities and concerns. I am running to represent you, so please give me a call at 509-996-5974 or email me at [email protected].
As someone born and raised in Yakima, I have a passion for serving my community. I spent most of my career in service to our most vulnerable populations after graduating from Washington State University with a degree in psychology.
I worked as a victim-witness advocate with the Yakima County Prosecutor’s office, then a probation officer with the Yakima County Juvenile Court, eventually becoming the court manager. I also worked at the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts, where I provided training and quality assurance to juvenile courts across the state. Most recently, I served as Interim Executive Director of Rod’s House, where I helped shepherd the organization through a season of change.
My heart for service extends to my volunteer activities where I am a founding board member of Voices for Children, a member and past president of Junior League of Yakima, and a past board member and president of Camp Fire USA Roganunda Council.
My husband Greg and I own and operate a successful physical therapy business here in Yakima. I also have a small consulting business helping non-profits thrive and succeed in their missions. We have twin six-year-old boys, Zach and Drex, who keep us busy.
I was appointed to the Yakima Planning Commission last year and recently was elected Vice-Chair. My service on the Planning Commission has reinforced the importance of local government and helped inspire me to take the leap to run for City Council.
Please join us for our campaign kickoff on May 20 from 5:00-7:00 pm at The Kiln.
